Mad Monster Bash
The Board Game

How it all began...
It started with a dark and stormy night, as all the best creations often do. As usual when working late, lifelong friends and artists, Otto and Mike hurled ideas and insults at one another to keep themselves awake. As rain lashed the rooftops and tree branches raked their spindly fingers across Mike's studio windows, the duo were brought back to the Halloweens of their childhood. Grainy scenes of trick-or-treating, candy-swapping, sneaking out after dark for ghoulish pranks (most of which involved toilet paper and eggs), fake blood, and scary movies played in their minds. “Weren’t those old movies just the best?” they reminisced. Otto cued up the old motion film Mad Monster Party and suddenly they were precocious twelve-year-olds again, laughing along with Frankenstein and Francesca, Yetch and Felix. Otto was suddenly struck by a lightening bolt of inspiration! Why not bring back some good old-fashioned Halloween fun in the form of a family board game? He was suddenly flooded with game ideas and knew Mike was the perfect artist to bring it to life. Otto raced home and feverishly worked on the gameplay until the masterpiece was complete, stopping only for a pot of coffee and pastries left at the door by slightly concerned wife. At the opposite end of town, Mike sat hunched over his drawing desk with a glass of red in one hand and a prismacolor pencil in the other. So it was on that sugar/caffeine/wine infused night of inspiration that Mad Monster Bash was born. “We built this game,” says Otto, “not only as an homage to our childhood, but to those great artists such as Rankin, Bass, and Davis. Mad Monster Bash is a way for Mike and I to bring that zany sense of fun to the new generation; a fiendish disco party, delightfully dastardly characters, and all the other silly party-game-esque activities and adjectives that constitute a pure evening of fun that you can enjoy as a family!”

Object Of The Game

Mad Monster Bash is an action-packed board game that requires players to answer spooky Halloween-themed trivia questions, perform actions, and sabotage other players based on drawn cards to advance across the board and escape the mansion. Played by 4-8 players, this game transports you into DJ extraordinaire and secret sorcerer Mad Morpheus' mansion, where he has invited you to the monster of all Halloween parties. Unbeknownst to you, this really is a monster party! Once inside, Mad Morpheus springs his hex so only one player is permitted to flee this fiendishly festive night, while the rest of the players are doomed to live out their days in a beastly party time loop. With a little granted magic of your own, you have a chance to act, beg, steal, blurt, howl, and dance your way out of this wild party. But beware, for on their own quest to party animal glory, the most dangerous monsters of all might be the players right next to you!
How To Play

1. Shuffle each individual deck of cards and place the five decks next to each other facedown near the game board. 2. Each player chooses a Token and places it on the ENTER space of the board. 3. Keep the Health Points Score pad, Dice, and Timer at the ready. The Bash begins with the youngest player rolling a pair of dice to enter the mansion. After the first player finishes their turn, the player to the left (clockwise) rolls next. Move your token forward that number of spaces on the board, entering the REANIMATION space first. Depending on the space you land on, draw from the top of the corresponding deck of cards. If you are fortunate enough to draw a Mojo card, you may use it or save it for another turn. However, if you draw a card from any of the other four decks, you must adhere to the card’s instructions at that moment. If you fail to do so, you must surrender any Mojo cards in your possession and move your token backward to the REANIMATION space. Play then proceeds with the next player. The first player to make it out of the castle wins, signifying the end of the game.
